Bob Dylan’s new album has hit #1 on the charts. It hurt to see Bob selling out doing an iPod commercial. I guess anything to get the #1 spot after so long. He did beat out Jessica Simpson and that is good enough for me.
The critically acclaimed disc is Dylan’s first No. 1 album since 1976′s “Desire.”
Jessica Simpson’s “A Public Affair” debuted at no. 5 with 101,000 copies sold – the highest charting of her career. It’s Simpson’s first release since her divorce from Nick Lachey.
David Letterman has signed on for four more years at CBS.
Oil prices are at the lowest since May. This can be attributed to a robust supply of oil and the finding of a huge oil supply in the Gulf of Mexico.
U.S. crude futures dropped $1.15 to $67.45, the lowest since May 22 and more than $10 below the record hit in late July on geopolitical worries and expectations for an active hurricane season. Brent crude dropped $1.14 to $66.95, also well below its August 8 peak of $78.65.
The Federal Reserve said that the economy is continuing to grow. Growth could be slowing with increases in construction costs and the cooling off of the real estate market.

Tony Blair has announced that May 31, 2007 will be his last day as the British prime minister.
In May 2005, when Blair led Labor to an unprecedented third consecutive election win, the prime minister said he would not seek the premiership again. But he had strongly resisted setting a timetable for handing over power to his presumptive political heir, Gordon Brown, who serves as chancellor of the exchequer, the British equivalent of finance minister.
