Country legend Willie Nelson and others on his tour were busted for possession of marijuana on their tour bus as it was traveling through Louisiana on Monday.

Nelson, 73, and four others traveling with him were cited with misdemeanor possession of marijuana and possession of hallucinogenic mushrooms.

Williams said officers found one-and-a-half pounds of marijuana and two-tenths of a pound of mushrooms on the tour bus after a traffic stop for a commercial vehicle inspection on I-10 westbound near Breaux Bridge.

“When the door was opened  and the trooper began to speak to the driver, he smelled the strong odor of marijuana on the bus,� State Police said in a news release.

This should come as no real surpise knowing Nelson’s history, but he did in interviews a couple of years back say he quit Mary Jane due to his asthma.  Nelson is the hardest working singer, working over 200 nights a year on the road. He puts on a great show. I have seen  him twice and hope to catch him again live before he passes on.
