How the Bumpshack Top 5 fared in Week 6

  1. Ohio State- The #1 ranked team in the country continued to roll by beating Bowling Green 35-7.  The Buckeyes play at Michigan State next weekend.  Ohio State is now 6-0.
  2. Auburn-  I saw this one coming and Auburn fans should have as well. Auburn has struggled nearly every week this season no matter how good or how bad the team has been.  Arkansas came out and man-handled Auburn 27-10.  In comparision Arkansas got beat in their home opener by the USC Trojans 50-14.  Auburn is now 5-1.
  3. West Virginia-  The Mountainers beat a SEC team on Saturday…..Mississippi State.  Even though the win game against the lowly Bulldogs, it helped build credibility for W.V.  West Virginia won the game 42-14, which is about the same score that the LSU Tigers beat Mississippi State by last week.  West Virginia is now 5-0
  4. Southern California- USC came very close to losing to a much improved Washington team coached by former Notre Dame coach Ty Willingham.  Time ran out on the Huskies as they were driving at the end of the game.  The Trojans held on for a 26-20 win. USC is now 5-0.
  5. Florida- The Gators had their way with #9 ranked LSU.  Florida’s secondary had three interceptions and QB Chris Leak played well enough to lead the Gators to a 23-10 win over the Tigers from Baton Rouge.
