Marlins Ramirez and Tigers Verlander win ROY’s

Florida Marlins rookie Hanley Ramirez won National League Rookie of the Year honors on Monday. The American League Rookie of the Year went to Detroit Tigers pitcher Justin Verlander.

Ramirez beat Washington Nationals third baseman Ryan Zimmerman by just four votes. Three of the top four in National League voting were Marlins.

Verlander beat out Rex Sox closer Jonathan Papelbon.
