Someone finally got into Britney Spears head and told the girl to start wearing some panties. Either that or this cold stretch here in Los Angeles was causing some major freezer burn. Spears was spotted buying panties yesterday at a lingerie boutique (fancy word for expensive).

Despite persistent sightings of Brit’s bare bits, she just spent more than $3000 on thongs and other fancy underthings at trendy Le Bra Lingerie boutique in West Hollywood, the place where Katie Holmes picked up her honeymoon unmentionables.

Spears charged up a camisole and thong for $1315, a bustier and thong for $510, a black corset and matching red thong for $300, and a yellow bra and thong for $333, among other things. So many thongs, so little time!

Britney, who’s a 36C, came in with a female friend, tried on everything she bought and was overheard saying “I could live here.”

I wouldn’t trust her with my check book or any pseudo celeb for that matter but at least she will be warmer getting out of cars and leave a bit to our imagination (isn’t that usually better anyway?). These photos from earlier in the week sure didn’t.  And these pics here were even worse.
