Bumpshack Bachelor Party Weekend

Eric, Luke, Trevor, Joshua (w/ Phoenix), Kirk and Travis
This past weekend the original Bumpshack crew of Eric, Trevor, Travis, Luke, Kirk and myself packed up and headed down to Tunica, Mississippi for a little bachelor party fun to celebrate the pending weddings of Trevor and Eric (No, not together, but they did share a bed for four months in college). Eric’s wedding is June 2nd. Trevor’s chain day is June 9th.
Friday afternoon Eric drove up Georgia and picked Trevor up near South Pittsburgh, Tennessee. They then met Kirk and Travis in Murfreesboro and hopped in Kirk’s wife’s SUV (more about that later). They proceeded to pick up Luke in Nashville (Luke’s girlfriend is there and the number or comments about her rack started to rack up at this point). I was told by Kirk that they would pick me up around 3:30pm. My call into Eric around 3:30 revealed that they wouldn’t even be in the ‘Boro’ until 3:30pm. Somewhere during this part of the trip Trevor confesses to his Porta-Potty erotica. Finally, they arrived to pick me up around 8:00pm.
I was told that there would be plenty of room and that I could hop in and we would make the rest of the trip to Tunica. The BumpBoys met the BumpWife and Phoenix and all is going rather smoothly until it comes time to hop in the car and finish the journey. Thy tell me to go outside and check out the situation. To my surprise (not really!) the SUV is more of a modern day station wagon with a backseat and two front row seats. Enough space to comfortable fit four people, five max and for sure not six as we have. I then had to arrange to borrow and drive a Chevy Tahoe the remainder of the way so that everyone could travel as comfortable as possible (I asked Eric if he had ever been on a trip that involved me where I didn’t drive, he said ‘nope’).
Near midnight we finally arrived at the casino capital of the south, Tunica. We were spread out all across the lobby of the Goldstrike casino because we had only one room for the six of us and they were checking keys of those going up to their rooms at the elevators. You read right….one room. Let me just state that between us we had a school teacher, two attorney’s, a successful songwriter, a pallet business owner, and a concrete construction manager. I guess some things never change when dealing with college friends. We devised a plan, split up, and all found a way to the room without getting caught.
We dropped off our bags and then headed to the tables to ‘make that paper’ with additional hopes of ‘making it rain’. After a quick stop at the buffet, Trevor, Travis, Kirk and Eric hit the Black Jack tables. After a couple of hours Luke retired for the evening around 1:30am. I then followed at 3:00am, Eric at 4:00am and Kirk and Travis at 5:00am. We all awoke around 11:30am and to our surprise there still was no Trevor. Instead of worry or show concern we continue to make fun of Trevor and how he probably was hooking up with someone’s grandmother or passed out in a Porta-Potty. Kirk showed a bit of concern (talk about a change).
As high noon hit the door opened up and a rank Trevor appeared in the same clothes he had on the night before. He started to mumble things that we still don’t understand and then boast of his successful 12 hours at the Black Jack table as he began to pour his money on the bed and bragged of ‘making that money’. We inquired how much and he stated $85 bucks (insert your own joke here).

The next item on the agenda was to travel the 30 minutes to Memphis to have the world famous ribs at the Rendevous. Trevor said he was going to come but passed out on the bed with his ‘Trevor and Casey’ coozie, lotion and photo of his bride-to-be (see photo above). The rest of us piled in the Tahoe and drove to Memphis for our full rack ribs and stroll down Beale Street to see the Bear-Goat.
Upon our return to Tunica we let on as if we had gone to a casino buffet and still planned to go to the Rendzvous later that evening since Trevor had his gut set on some ribs. The rest of Saturday included lots of gambling (watching on my part) and eating. Finally at 4:00am on Sunday morning, as we had dinner before heading to bed, we let up and told Trevor we had Rendezvous for lunch. He didn’t seem to mind too much since he had pocketed more money than anyone else at the casino tables.

Sunday morning around 11:00am we checked out of the hotel and drove back across the state to our different homes. I was the first to be dropped off and the Bumpwife and prepared some tasty pasta for all of us boys. Luke, Trevor, Travis, Kirk and Eric then traveled the rest of the way. It was a very memorable and enjoyable weekend. A lot tamer than most would imagine. Everyone vowed to travel to Las Vegas for Luke’s bachelor party if Luke ever caves in to joining us on the other side.
