The bottom three vote getters this week on American Idol were Blake Lewis, LaKisha Jones, and Sanjaya Malakar.  The ‘day after’ (morning pill) show continues to become a marketing platform for movies, Fox programs and other Idol initiatives.

Fergie and country star Martina McBride performed before Ryan Seacrest announced that Sanjaya Malakar had received the lowest number of votes this week and would no longer be on the show.

The seventeen year old from Washington will always be remembered for his various hair styles, goofy smile and questionable singing.  He did get glowing compliments from Tony Bennett, Diana Ross and Jennifer Lopez.

A lot of people are rejoicing that Sanjaya is gone, but the most horrible part was having to listen to him sing ‘Something to Talk About’ once again.  It will be very interesting to see where Sanjaya lands on his feet.  Someone is going to make a nice pile of money off of him.  I hope Sanny is smart about it and gets rich as well.
