No one was voted off of American Idol on Tuesday night. Ryan Seacrest had promised the most shocking voting results ever. How did he figure? That is blatant lying as there are no voting results and everyone who called in last night, called in for a good cause (charity), but it didn’t have any impact on who remains.

I would have to say Chris Daughtry being voted off early last year was a much larger of a shock. I have to say I don’t like being tooled around like that. Ryan had told Chris Richardson that he was safe meaning that Jordin Sparks had been voted off, but he went on to say that she and everyone was safe this week.

Bumpshack voting from last night gave 50% of the vote to Jordin Sparks, Melinda Doolittle 34% and the other 16% spread among the other four contestants. I thought LaKisha Jones would exit stage left but she is in the final six along with Blake Lewis, Phil Stacey, Melinda Doolitte, LaKisha Jones, Jordin Sparks and Chris Richardson.

It was amazing to see a show that makes millions of dollars use their massive platform to raise money for poverty, AIDS and sickness in Africa and America. Ellen Degeneres hosted part of the show from Walt Disney Concert Hall. Many clips from Simon Cowell and Ryan’s trip to Africa were played throughout the show.

News Corp, who owns half the world including Fox, Fox News, Myspace, the New York Post, and the other 2/3rds of media, donated $5 million dollars or 10 cents per call up to 50 million calls from last night’s voting. There ended up being 70 million votes.

Ellen made a personal pledge of $100,000. I have grown into a bit of an Ellen fan the past couple of months. Her show is often on in the background and she truly seems to care about people. She is also a New Orleans native.

Josh Groban’s performance with the African Children’s Choir was awe inspiring and inspirational.

Elvis Presley returned to sing a duet with Celine Dion. It truly looked as if they King was in the house. Man! they don’t make entertainers like that anymore. If you don’t have an EP greatest hits you are missing out.
