1,051 Pound Boar Killed by 11-Year-Old

Photo: Hogzilla II and Jamison Stone

A record size-breaking 1,051 pound boar has been shot by an 11-year-old boy in Alabama.  Jamison Stone shot the monster hog while hunting with his father and two guides.

Hogzilla is being made into a horror movie. But the sequel may be even bigger: Meet Monster Pig. An 11-year-old Alabama boy used a pistol to kill a wild hog his father says weighed a staggering 1,051 pounds and measured 9-feet-4 from the tip of its snout to the base of its tail. Think hams as big as car tires. If the claims are accurate, Jamison Stone’s trophy boar would be bigger than Hogzilla, the famed wild hog that grew to seemingly mythical proportions after being killed in south Georgia in 2004.

Jamison, who killed his first deer at age 5, was hunting with father Mike Stone and two guides in east Alabama on May 3 when he bagged Hogzilla II. He said he shot the huge animal eight times with a .50- caliber revolver and chased it for three hours through hilly woods before finishing it off with a point-blank shot.

Through it all there was the fear that the animal would turn and charge them, as wild boars have a reputation of doing.

“I was a little bit scared, a little bit excited,” said Jamison, who just finished the sixth grade on the honor roll at Christian Heritage Academy, a small, private school.

His father said that, just to be extra safe, he and the guides had high-powered rifles aimed and ready to fire in case the beast with 5- inch tusks decided to charge.

With the pig finally dead in a creek bed on the 2,500-acre Lost Creek Plantation, a commercial hunting preserve in Delta, trees had to be cut down and a backhoe brought in to bring Jamison’s prize out of the woods.

Being a southern boy I still can’t fathom running into one of these rhinoceros-sized hogs in the woods.  This story rings memories of Tennessee World War I hero and sharp shooter Alvin C. York.

I hope that kid is chased through the forest by that boar’s offspring, impaled several times with tusks and then eaten.

Damn rednecks, all they care about is killing. Any idiot with a gun and a bullet can kill anything if he wants too. What the hell did this animal do to you guys except to exercise his god given right to exist on this earth. What ever, what goes around comes around rednecks. You guys are a bunch of little bitches with your big guns. Take the guns away and all you have is white trash with a small dick and an IQ of 15.
Shot with a camera, so at least others can have a try next time. Little bitches.

This is the biggest bs stroy I have ever seen and everyone is jumping all over it. There is only one picture of this “wild hog”, and nothing ver close-up. It will be the obscure news of the day in two days that the whole thing was a fake.

Don’t interpret this as being anti-gun, because I’m not.

The only thing impressive here is the size of this boar. Anyone with a digit can fire a gun, and this isn’t like taking out a sparrow from a thousand yards. Killing is easy with a gun. Nothing to be proud of.

It’s truly unbelievable that we as humans see something different or special and immediately want to kill it. “Wow, thats a beaut, lets kill it.” Why the fuck would anyone want to kill the largest boar on the planet, wouldn’t we rather leave it alone so that it can be preserved. I am not surprised in the least that they are from the south, where kids grow up learning to kill and hate. His father should be ashamed of himself and I hope that pudgy little brat has nightmares for the rest of his life.

You want to eat tofu and veggies go ahead, just don’t tell me what I can and can’t eat. Over 99% of all living things on this earth are extinct and yet we still have an abundance of species with more being discovered every day. Good shoot son.

“I’m glad to know that liberal flower-picking abort-your-offspring cavemanism hasn’t destroyed what makes that young man a man.”

It’s funny that you have to resort to such childish labeling… calling progressives cavemen because they don’t want to kill a marvelous, most likely one-of-a-kind creature is pretty ridiculous. I support hunting of animals for sport provided they are eaten and I am also a catch and release fisherman. However, the idea that the best specimens are killed as a sort of trophy is disgusting. I like your cute abortion accusation, too. It’s very typical of bible huggers like yourself. Stop trying to lump people together with your pathetic political labels. After all, anyone who would side with the current corrupt administration is a delusional evangelical zealot of the first order. Speaking of “cavemanism”, why don’t you blow your brains out and go back to your god already, if your primitive view of the origin of the universe is so sound.

First of all, this photo is obviously photo shopped. Boars just don’t get that big in the wild. However, all you fools screaming about “Oh what a beautiful pig, oh take a picture and don’t hurt it.” Give me a fucking break! If this were real,a pig that large would have no natural predators, and would overburden it’s habitat in no time. For all of you, morons from New York, Boston, Atlanta, or wherever you park your BMW at night, whose idea of the wilderness is turning on the Discovery Channel or maybe even getting out the Timberlands for a walk in the local park. How about educating yourself about the realities of wildlife management, or if that requires too much effort, then at least try not to show your ignorance in public. Now before I get off on a rant about Yuppie Scum, let me just say that every single one of you who posted insults to a little kid ought to be ashamed of yourselves. If you have a problem with this then insult the kid’s father or me, I’m not going to lose any sleep over it and I doubt he is either. But, this boy that you are calling a dick, and a pudgy little brat, is an eleven year old little kid emulating his father, and probably every other male role model he has ever had. If you want to insult him, have the common fucking decency to wait about 7 years. And lastly, let me just say go to Starbucks, have another fucking latte and SHUT THE FUCK UP!!!

    Medieval Armor Buff | May 27th, 2007 9:10

Attention uneducated animal rights activists! Please do a little research before you open your mouth and insert your foot!

Respectfully . . . I know that you feel terrible about this poor little piggy. However, if you really knew anything about the nature of wild (feral) hogs, you would know that they are utterly destructive to any environment they live in. A small bulldozer cannot do the land damage that an animal of this size can. God forbid this animal was anywhere near crops because those crops aren’t there anymore. A deranged Ditch-Witch operator can’t do the damage that a big hog can do. They are absolutely devastating to land managers, farmland and crops not to mention a real menace to habitat and other wildlife. There are very few natural predators that can take a hog . . . certainly not one of this size. How about Disease! We are talking serious blue-ammonia-pee-funk here. BRUCELLOSIS, PSEUDORABIES and other diseases are also a real concern in wild hogs. These things are really nasty! If feral hogs were not managed (yes shot or trapped) by hunters, they would be completely out of control and really are out of control anyway. If you really saw with your own eyes their severe negative effect on land and quality animal habitat you would really have something to get horrified about.

With all do respect Nay Sayers, I hope you have the opportunity someday to meet a farmer or land owner and have them speak to you and educate you about menacing feral hogs in the south and southwest. These animals are not natural to the area and are an unwanted, introduced species. Some escaped from old farms and others were just set lose to reek havoc.

Ahh Food . . . Lots of it too. And no preservatives ! I don’t know this young man or his father but I will bet they had one hell of a barbeque with this animal . . . probably enough for 50 barbeques.

Lighten up on Jamison and his daddy guys. You really are speaking out of school here and showing your lack of education here regarding feral hogs. They have really performed a service for the local farm and timber community and for the environment by removing this aging animal from the ecosystem. They also have had some quality outdoor time together in the process. Jamison will remember this day in the outdoors with his daddy for the rest of his life. You are really wasting you time here fuming on a non-issue with wild hogs. Do us all a favor and apply some pressure in areas where it is needed like dog abuse in the dog racing industry or veal raising (really cruel). Avoid and do a little research to get your facts straight first though!

Wild Pigs are an alien species. There are natural no means of controlling their population within the animal community. Hunting is not cruelty and yes it is a recreational sport! Hunters do not want to hurt animals, they just harvest them and yes, that means killing them. 99.9 % of hunters are ethical and are friendly and kind people. They love wild game meat, and prefer it to store bought, antibiotic injected, processed and prodded store bought meat.

Fathers and Mothers, teach you sons and daughters to hunt responsibly. Harvest game legally and ethically. Be educated. Be good stewards of the land and take the time to educate an activist nut ball when the opportunity arises!

Please don’t get me started on the deer!

The thing most are missing, is this was on a hunting reserve it was a good thing the boar managed to stay there. It’s a sure thing a fence would not hold him and eventualy he would have been roaming about causing havic. Can you imagine hitting him with a car? He was a feral hog & the problems associated with them were explained well in a previous post the boar was not “wildlife” he was a hog raised on a hunting perserve and meant to be killed and eaten just like any other hog. The fact that he had wadered about & got extremly large is the only news to this story. Had he been loaded in a truck & taken down to the local Tyson plant for slaughter nobody would have even known about it. However had he escaped and wandered into a suburb and been killed by the local SWAT team, THAT would have been news!!

No what should have happened is the hog could have been tranquilized and then hauled out of the hunting grounds then let lose in an truly protected area where it could not interfere with any humans or other natural wildlife. Like a zoo for instance. The family could have benefitted more that way and so could science. It’s the mentality that a child learns to kill something, which has survived this long in the wild for however many decades, is filled with bullets and everything is all good about it; which worries me about hunters. The fishing industry is overfishing their waters and an estimated extinction of most farmed species will occur in our lifetimes as a result. When that happens its going to be your own damn fault. Species do go extint just like the human species will go extinct some day but humans are helping too many species closer to that end then nature ever would have. I would have loved to gone to visit that hog in a zoo or a protected reserve. And as far as that couple in Alaska goes, he knew he made a mistake by camping in an enclosed area which was directly in the path the grizzlies would take to get to the feeding waters, but he accepted the consequences and still had tremendous empathy towards them. Just live Steve in Australia accepted that he probably would die protecting the creatures he had tremendous empathy for. Don’t fault someone for caring about species which live on instinct alone… Fault the species with amazing cognitive abilities and understanding of consequences, whom sees only to kill and plant their boot on its skull for a quick photo opportunity. Someone will hunt the hunters someday for sport and trophies and possibly even meat if that continues to be your reasoning.. I bet we taste like chicken.

First off congrat’s on the kill. I don’t doubt that you killed a 1051 lb hog it’s just that the photo that you show has been enhanced. For reference I give you the mouth of the hog in the photo showing this young man alone with his hog. Why the difference in background and the lack of follow thru with colors from the backgroundto foreground? Now I’m not a big photobuff but I am a hunter and a computer geek and I can tell you these are not actual unretouched photos. There are too many straight pixel lines along the back and background objects don’t match with foreground objects for size. As I said congrats but release the unretouched photos.

You Dumbass left wing pansies | May 29th, 2007 13:19

ARE YOU KIDDING ME!!! this is the most amazing thing I have ever seen and i congratulate this kid for killing such an amazing animal. you leftist idiots don’t realize that our society (humans) was only advanced by means of hunting and gathering. when humans (up until lets say, 1943) found that they were hungry, they didn’t go down to the local organic food kiosk and pick themselves up a bushel of organic vegetables or a nice “delicious” meal of tofu sticks on a wheat bun. No, no they picked up their gun, went to their backyard, and hunted for dinner. This is how humans have lived for thousands of years, and how some are still living today. As you can see, humans are still the dominant species in the Earth’s ecosystem after thousands of years thanks to our ability to kill our potential predators and make us the top of the food chain and advancing our race as humans. Now, if anyone can honestly tell me that they think humans got to the top by any other reason, be my guest, but until then, i will be thankful for people like this who kill for the rush, enjoyment, and personal satisfaction they get by essentially doing nothing but advancing our species and I think that all of you who shun this kid should thank him because when a situation comes where you are on one of your conservation walks in Alaska and you find yourself being attacked by a Grizzly bear he will be the one who saves your ass and kills him before he kills you because i can bet all the money i have that you would rather see that bear dead over yourself. once again congrats on killing this Boar!

The photo looks like the boar is bigger than a 1000 pounds but that’s beside the point. If you PETA lovers knew anything at all, you would know that God put animals on earth for man. But like most tree hugging big mouth wimps, you wouldn’t know anything about God or Freedom. As this country goes to hell in a hand basket due to liberals trying to run this country, thank God for the young kids who can shoot a gun. Remember! It’s God, Guts and Guns that made this country free. Not the fake, flag burning, BMW driving, glass house living sissy’s like you. Good for him! Fuck all you ‘it’s a majestic creature!!11one!!11!!” people… Animals are there to EAT. And if he’s not gonna eat it all, fuck it. Maybe he’ll donate it to the homeless. Maybe not. WTF good is a 1/2 ton boar? Letting it live for the sake of letting it live? Get real. Survival of the fittest, baby.

Good job kid, kill the pig. Look guys, most of us eat meat and they made this thing into 300kg of breakfast sausage so its not like it went to waste. Hats off to the kid that shot it, at least he has the balls to bag his own food instead of just getting another prepackaged animal product from the local grocer. I’m sure he can appreciate the life of that animal a lot more than an 11 year old who doesn’t give two shits about some cow or pig that he or she is eating. We are a whiny, pussified society with nothing better to do than complain about some kid who kills his food instead of letting mom and dad buy it at the store. Well you can all fuck off, you’re all a bunch of sheep and this is just one of many reasons that our world is going down the shitter!!!

    "REDNECK" | June 2nd, 2007 2:24

What pisses me off the most about this thread is not the fact that people are against the killing of the hog people have their opinions (I mean I’m definitely not against killing it because in 2 weeks I’m headin to South Carolina to hunt Wild boar) but what makes me the maddest is people commenting on this kids weight!!! That is the pussiest thing I have ever read and also the comments about the south really tick me off, because of the way people live, talk, what they eat, and how they have fun they are labeled as rednecks and illiterates, most of the people with negative feedback on here probably have never hunted a day in their life..and I can tell you it’s one of the most gratifying feelings in the world to humanely kill an animal, there is a lot of hardwork involved prior to the kill and when all that comes together and you get your reward its truly a good feeling. And as far as hanging the mounts on the wall..I can bet your bottom dollar that yall have your sports plaques or academic achievement plaques, etc… plastering the walls and for us “REDNECKS” a head mount of an animal we worked extremely hard to kill is just as rewarding for us!!! Oh yea and let me tell you something this country wouldn’t be half what it is if those “REDNECKS” weren’t living here!!! You can ask anybody who has been to the south, if you are ever in need of food or a place to stay and you are in the South just stop and ask I guarantee somebody would take you in and feed you real good with that “REDNECK” food and give you a nice bed to sleep in but God forbid you have trouble in the North because those damn yankees would rather see a person go hungry as see a wild boar killed!!! Congratulations kid on the kill I hope I kill one half as big!!!

I got this from our local newspaper. Apparently they bought the thing and then killed it a week later

‘Monster Pig’ was raised on Ala. farm and sold days before boy shot him

    Associated Press

FRUITHURST, Ala. — The huge hog that became known as “Monster Pig after being hunted and killed by an 11-year-old boy had another name: Fred.
The not-so-wild pig had been raised on an Alabama farm and was sold to the Lost Creek Plantation just four days before it was shot there in a 150-acre fenced area, the animal’s former owner said.
Phil Blissitt told The Anniston Star in a story Friday that he bought the 6-week-old pig in December 2004 as a Christmas gift for his wife, Rhonda, and that they sold it after deciding to get rid of all the pigs at their farm.
“I just wanted the truth to be told. That wasn’t a wild pig, Rhonda Blissitt said.
Jamison Stone shot the huge hog during what he and his father described as a three-hour chase. They said it was more than 1,000 pounds and 9 feet long; if anything, it looked even bigger in a now-famous photo of the hunter and the hunted.
Mike Stone said in a telephone interview with The Associated Press on Friday that he had been under the impression that the hog was wild, not farm-raised.
Telephone messages left Friday with Eddy Borden, the owner of Lost Creek Plantation, were not immediately returned.
Stone said state wildlife officials told him that it is not unusual for hunting preserves to buy farm-raised hogs and that the hogs are considered feral once they are released.
Stone said he and his son met Blissitt on Friday morning to get more details about the hog. Blissitt said that he had about 15 hogs and decided to sell them for slaughter, but that no one would buy that particular animal because it was too big for slaughter or breeding, Stone said.
Blissitt said that the pig had become a nuisance and that visitors were often frightened by it, Stone said.
“He was nice enough to tell my son that the pig was too big and needed killing, Stone said. “He shook Jamison’s hand and said he did not kill the family pet.
The Blissitts said they didn’t know the hog that was hunted was Fred until they were contacted by a game warden for the Alabama Department of Wildlife and Freshwater Fisheries. The agency determined that no laws were violated in the hunt.
Phil Blissitt said he became irritated when he learned that some thought the photo of Fred was doctored.
“That was a big hog, he said.

Just because the WHITE man’s government declares KILLING legal, Does’t make it right. Something so rare has lost it’s live and an 11 year old boy has stolen a live from nature. I don’t blame the child. The blame is all on the parents, more specifically the father. When will it all end, MURDERING for sport and smiling about it. It wouldn’t be so fun if the tables were turned. Emagin yourself being hunted and KILLED. You may leave behind a wife, kids, ECT.

I despise all hunting except that which is truly done as a necessity, and that rules out most of it. Even if I had to hunt to get food, it would be reluctantly, and it would be done with a serious and respectful attitude. I would have deep appreciation and respect for the life I was taking.

Let me go ahead and say it now: I AM A BAMBI-LOVING TREE-HUGGER, and I’m proud of it. I’m raising three orphaned baby raccoons right now. I have nothing in common with you shallow, red-neck, sub-humans who get thrills out of shooting animals for the “sport” of it.

That fat punk who shot the hog could not be hunting out of necessity. The last thing he needs is more sausage.

    Hey Flying Right… #73…

You seem to be the just the type I referred to in my first comment (#71) - a shallow, red-neck, sub-human. Also, you can’t spell, you’re ignorant, and you lack intelligence. What are “pubs”? To me they are bars or taverns. Be that the case, though, what is a “boy with no pubs” - a boy who doesn’t own any bars or taverns? I guess you were trying to the best of your backwards, hillbilly ability to spell “pubes” (short for pubic hair).

Also, you write that the animal “probally” tasted good. Now I can choose one of two possibilities here: #1- “Probally” is a rarely-used word that I’ve never heard of. #2- You’re a mentally-deficient hick, and you were attempting to spell “probably.” I think I’ll go with #2.

Another point: “Boy” (in “boy shooting such a beast”) should be possessive because it precedes a gerund, but I won’t try to explain the reason for that to you because it would be like trying to teach a chimpanzee calculus. OH! You, know… that’s probably not a good illustration; you probably don’t even know what calculus is.

What does “that things outa legend” mean? Is that hillbilly talk?

So you’re “sister fuckin”? Does that mean what I think it does - that you have sex with your sister (or sisters)? Maybe now we’re getting to the root of the problem - inbreeding. I bet your offspring are a handsome bunch! I wonder whether they got their dad’s intellect. Were your mommy & daddy brother & sister?

Why would you say that “that boar deserved to get shot and killed”? It “deserved” to??? Why??? I think your genes should be removed from the human gene pool.

OK, let me say it again (see my previous comments: 71 & 75):
Most of you are uneducated, sub-human, inbred, genetically deficient, red-neck hicks. Second thought: let me not call you “sub-human;” that could imply that you are animals. But you are not; I consider animals to be noble. You are actually sub-animal. I say the following with complete honesty and respect: I mourn the loss of that animal far more than I would the loss of any of you.

Ben Smith appears to be in complete denial about real life. Here’s a story Ben.
I was 10 years old and I went Antelope hunting in Wyoming with my dad. We arrived in Encampment, WY and as we were driving to the bed and breakfast that we were staying in for the night before we headed out to the camp, we saw a huge bull running down the street being chased by a few men. A funny sight indeed.
We unpacked our gear took showers and went to the local steakhouse for some dinner, we had an early morning the next day. As we walked to the restaurant we saw the local butcher and decided to tell him we’d stop in after our hunt to get our game butchered. As we entered the building we heard the loud grunts of a struggling bull. As we got further in we were met by that same bull we saw earlier running loose down Main street. But this time he wasn’t running loose. He was now tied up with chains by his hind legs, and being winched towards the cieling. The room was loud with the sound of machinery and the bull’s moans. The butcher peered over at us and motioned with his hand that he’d be with us in a second. When the bull was completely off of the floor and his head was about eye level, the butcher walked over with a .22 caliber pistol and shot him once in the head. The knee jerk reaction I had as a small boy was almost overwhelming, and only made worse when the butcher picked up a knife and cut the throat of the bull and let him bleed out right before our eyes. I was shocked, as was my father. We had no idea that butchering a bull occured like that.
We spoke briefly with the butcher and then went to the steakhouse and ordered porterhouse for two and creamed spinach. We ate every bite and left nothing on our plates.
We went out and killed an antelope on the third day of the hunt and went home.
What’s the point of this story? I just wish to show others a few things that I was fortunate enough to learn at the age of 10.
    1)Life is cruel.
    2)Nature is cruel.
    3)There is good and bad.
4)The lion only lives because the antelope dies.
And any candyass that desires to eat any type of animal should damn well have the balls to at least once kill that which he eats. It will show you true sacrifice and what it takes to make that steak, or chicken breat, or tuna sashimi, or omelette magically appear on your plate.
I live in NYC, I hunt and I fish, and I appreciate everything that I sit down and eat, because I know what had to happen for it to get there.
The real rub is, the loudest mouth idiots are the ones that have no idea.

I am not sure if I believe this story. How did this huge animal exist so long undetected. then they destroy it before anyone can examine it…maybe donate some of body parts to science to see how in fact he got so LARGE in the wild. Just doesn\’t seem he could\’ve or would\’ve stayed hidden that long. At that size he would have come out of that forest into a community looking for food…he should have had a massive appetite to match his size.
    I don\’t know…

for a start this picture is fake, look closely at it maybe they used photosop to make it look far bigger. i dont agree with hunting for fun that’s just sick, when your hunting to survive then that’s a different matter. there’s a comment by cloud1a7 saying that saddam was killed because he was unique the same as this (if real) bore, somehow i dont think this bore is doing anybody harm in a forest where’as saddam killed thousands of innoccent people, so what is your idiotic point.
