Andy Roddick Speaks Out on Doctored Mag Cover
Andy Roddick was surprised to see that his arms and body were so big when he saw himself on the cover of Men’s Fitness magazine. He then went on to write on his blog about the altered magazine cover.
The radical Photoshop arms race came to light last week on the Web site TMZ, which also carried the news that Roddick admitted he was quite surprised when he spied himself on the cover.
Aside from the serious bulk, he noted that a birthmark on his right arm had disappeared.
“I spent the last few weeks in Austin, Texas, really focused on my training and getting back into shape - but I’m pretty sure I’m not as fit as the Men’s Fitness cover suggests,” Roddick wrote on his blog, according to TMZ.
“Little did I know I have 22-inch guns and a disappearing birth mark on my right arm. I saw the cover for the first time when I landed after Rome [tournament]. It was pretty funny.
“I walked by the newsstand in the airport and did a total double take. I can barely figure out how to work the red-eye tool on my digital camera. Whoever did this has mad skills.
Pretty Watergate-deceptive when a fitness magazine is altering the body of it’s cover boy. ‘Big Arms in 5 Easy Moves’? 5 Photoshop moves perhaps.
Neal Boulton, who was the editor-in-chief at the time, resigned for personal reasons about a week ago and was replaced by Roy Johnson. Boulton had approved the cover. At least one design consultant, Mary Anne Bulter, resigned after objecting to the practice and staff design director John Gilman is said to be on the brink of resigning, according to an insider.
Luckily people are losing their jobs and being held responsible for Roddick’s pseudo 22-inch guns. There are thousands of gyms with tens of thousands of men with great bodies to be on the cover of health magazines. The magazine industry however has quit using non-celebrities on their covers because they believe and probably do sell more copies with true celebrities on the front.

I do not see the need to put him down and he is the #1 American tennis player. Learn a thing about tennis before opening your non intelligent mouth. For being a B list tennis star, he has been in the top 10 for most of his carreer, he fell out for the very first time last year but was back up within a very short period of time. And now is #5 in the world which he only lost his #3 spot because of the French Open, after the grass court and hard court season he will be back to #3. He is a class act, on and off the court. He has his own charity foundation which he raises a lot of money for kids. He is also never in the tabloids for acting like a moron like most young celebrities. And as for a new girlfriend if he does who cares, why must you put other people down, maybe because you are lacking something in your own life. And as far as the Maria thing, he never once said he was dating her, he kept saying he wasn’t, the tabloids said that he was, they even altered photos to make it look like they were at the Epsy awards last year which neither one even attended.

Why you know Jenny is the flattest boob in Texas? lol But bangging a high school chick isn’t a class act. Well, Texans know.
I know Jenny all my life because we were same schools. She is a student and a model (is what she really, really wants). I didn’t know she has been dating Andy Roddick until recently. All I know is Jenny has been working very hard to be a model and spend huge fortune for it and hard diet…for size 0 stuff.. But i’m sure she has ever had a plastic surgery. She is naturally pretty girl but it’s just a difficult even such a pretty girl can’t be a model for some “angles” and yes, she really care about that her boobs aren’t big enough for modeling. Seeing these comment here, it seems that dating with high profiles aren’t helpful for her aspiring career either… Good Luck Jenny!!
Perhaps you should learn a thing or two about tennis before you atart running your mouth about things. Say what you will, but I don’t see you being number one in the world or winning the US Open anytime soon…unless hell freezes over and Paris Hilton becomes smart. Maybe you should learn a thing or two, especially about tennis, before you speak. Roddick is not #1 in the world and never has been.
He has won ONE major tennis tournament in his lifetime and that was four years ago at the US Open. He hasn’t made it out of the first or second round at the French Open in since 2001 when he made it to the third round.
Roddick 1 Major Win in 7 years
Federer 8 Major Wins in the last 4 years.
Nadal 3 Majors in last 3 years.
I pull for American Andy when he plays and he might be the best American tennis player (which doesn’t say much) but that doesn’t mean he can compete with Federer or Nadal….and sadly Andy is past his prime. Tennis players at the age of 25 on have seen their best days.
