British junkie Pete Doherty checked into a detox rehab on Sunday and out of the rehab in less than five minutes according to the Daily Mail.

Doherty’s latest bid to quit drugs got off to a bad start – as the troubled rocker checked into rehab – and out again within in five minutes.

And within less than 24 hours, he was in trouble with police again after the singer was spotted by officers throwing rubbish out of a minicab window.

The trip to Harrogate was believed to be the start of the five-day detox course which a judge ordered him to attend.

After his conviction two weeks ago for driving illegally while in possession of Class A drugs, including crack and heroin, he was told attending the clinic was the only way he could stay out of jail.

He was then stopped by police for throwing garbage out of a mini-cab.  I don’t get the fascination with this dude.  At least our celeb-junkies in the U.S. (Lohan, Spears, etc.) are hot or once were.
