Is Lindsay Lohan Un-Insurable?

With Lindsay Lohan’s latest arrest many executives in Hollywood are asking if her movie career is done. Basically when an actor/ess becomes un-insurable their career is over.
“For a price, anything can be done, although an insurance carrier can make things so unpalatable that at times the makers of the film just won’t be interested,” said Ross Miller, partner with insurance brokerage D.R. Reiff & Associates Inc.
But Diaz did say the terms for covering Lohan would likely be “serious at this point.”
She said Fireman’s Fund, in such a case, would likely put in higher deductibles, or ask the star to put their salary into escrow to pay for any losses if production was disrupted.Insurance rates for errant actors can range anywhere from 1% to 3% of a movie’s production budget, which can range from $5 million to $100 million or more, he said.
Everything in life has a price. The question regarding Lohan becomes whether the studios and producers want to pay high premiums to insure Lohan to be in their films.
