David Beckham’s Latest Injury Could End Career

David Beckham, of the L.A. Galaxy, was injured again last night in the Galaxy’s soccer match.  Beckham injured his knee last night and is expected to miss at least six weeks.

“It’s just gone from one thing to another thing. Maybe it is a sign to give it a rest, get it right and not come back until it is right,” Beckham told reporters after the game which the Galaxy lost on penalties.

A Galaxy spokesman said Beckham had suffered a sprain to his right knee while the midfielder indicated the injury could be more serious.

“It doesn’t feel good. With a ligament strain it is four-to-six weeks. We will have to wait and see,” he said before refusing to rule himself out of the Galaxy’s match away against Real Salt Lake on Saturday.

“I’m going to have a scan, at the end of the day, if the scan comes back tomorrow and it is not as bad as it was then you know maybe I’ve got a chance to play [on Saturday].”

It seems the U.S. soccer experience for David Beckham could perhaps be over for good.  He will miss the rest of the MLS season. At his age, and with his ankle and now knee injuries, it won’t be surprising to see him hang his shin guards  up.
