As reported here earlier, O.J. Simpson was arrested by Las Vegas police earlier today and charged on a number of accounts related to his armed robbery of a memorabilia dealer. His bail has been set at $78,000. I guess he has a history of being a high flight risk.

The breakdown is as follows:
a) $10,000 for each count of assault with a deadly weapon
b) $20,000 for each count of robbery with a deadly weapon
c) $15,000 for the one count of burglary with the use of a deadly weapon
d) $3,000 for the conspiracy to commit robbery with a deadly weapon count

Fred Goldman is having one hell of a week. I don’t see O.J. escaping this time. May Johnny Cochran rest in peace.

UPDATE: AP is reporting that no bail has been set for O.J.
