Decide the Fate of Barry Bonds Record Home Run Ball

Barry Bonds Asterisk Ball

Fashion designer Marc Ecko purchased Barry Bonds record breaking home run ball #756 last week during an online auction. Ecko paid $752,467 dollars for the ball.  Almost a thousand dollars for every homer Bonds hit in breaking the record.  Bonds has already called Ecko an idiot.

“He’s stupid. He’s an idiot,” Bonds said. “He spent $750,000 on the ball and that’s what he’s doing with it? What he’s doing is stupid.”

Now Ecko is letting the American public decide the fate of the controversial piece of history by voting on the website Vote756.com.

Here are the three options

A) Bestow It - Give the ball to Cooperstown.  The ball that broke Hank Aaron’s home run record belongs in the Hall of Fame.

B) Brand It - Burn an asterisk into the ball with a branding iron, adding a permanent footnote to the record. Then, send it to Cooperstown.

C) Banish It - Put the ball on a rocket ship and launch it into orbit, a moon shot for the ages.  Out of sight, out of mind.
