Star Wars Becoming Weekly TV Show

Star Wars TV Show

George Lucas must be a bit greedy.  The multi-millionaire is planning to take his hit franchise Star Wars and turn it into a weekly TV show. He claims the show will focus on the minor characters and not include Darth Vader or Luke Skywalker.

George Lucas said Tuesday he is planning a live-action television series spinoff of the “Star Wars” film franchise. Lucas told The Los Angeles Times he has “just begun work” on the series, which will not include the films’ major characters Luke Skywalker or Darth Vader.

“The Skywalkers aren’t in it, and it’s about minor characters,” Lucas told the Times.

This is a great way for Lucas to cheapen the amazing “Star Wars” franchise that is perhaps the most popular cinema creation ever.  I know George has not done a lot of great work of late but that shouldn’t cause him to hasten and repackage a cheap version of his best work.
