Yankee Hero Jim Leyritz Charged with DUI, Vehicular Homicide

Former New York Yankees World Series hero Jim Leyritz has been charged with DUI and vehicular homicide after a woman he wrecked into, was thrown from her car, and killed.
According to Fort Lauderdale police, a car driven by Leyritz, a resident of Plantation, Fla., hit another car in the heart of Fort Lauderdale’s Himmarshee Street bar district early Friday morning.
Leyritz was traveling northbound when he passed a red light and crashed with a westbound car at around 3:30 a.m., according to the Sun-Sentinel of Fort Lauderdale.
Leyritz had been working as a part time announcer for the Yankees on the YES! Network an MSG Network. The charges could lead to fifteen years in jail and a $10,000 fine.
