Priscilla Ceballos Lied/Cheated to Win Hannah Montana Tix
Priscilla Ceballos had her daughter lie and cheat to win tickets to see Hannah Montana/Miley Cyrus in concert in New York. In the essay, the daughter wrote that her daddy died in Iraq by a roadside bomb. The story turned out to be 100% false and a total lie.
A six year old girl with the help of her mother, Priscilla Ceballos deceived contest officials at Club Libby Lu by entering a fake essay stating that her “daddy dies in Iraq�. How in the hell does any parent think that this was okay to do?
She tried to defend her act of stupidity by claiming that they never said it was true.
“We did the essay and that’s what we did to win,� Priscilla Ceballos, the mother, said in an interview with Dallas TV station KDFW. “We did whatever we could do to win.�
Ceballos deserves the ‘Bad Mom of the Year’ award for this dirty shenanigan. There are thousands of brave men and women fighting overseas to protect us so we can go to silly Hannah Montana concerts and she felt that she could exploit those that have given their lives to win a silly contest? That is just bad, real bad, and feels very slimy.

Of course, Civil Libertarians and members of the Democrat Party defender her right to an “alternative life style” and argue that even if she is an illegal Mexican who lied and cheated to get into the US that she should be allowed to stay despite her status as an illegal alien because “No Human Is Illegal”, and she has the “right as an American” to keep the Hannah Montana tickets. Ms. Ceballos is a disgraceful mother. Cheat, lie, and steal your way to victory, kid! Win at any cost! I feel sorry for her child - the kid’s only 6. Unfortunately, I’m not so sure there aren’t at least a few other parents - probably the same ones making sure a sporting event is anything but fun, and horrid “stage mothers” - saying to themselves, “I wish I’D thought of that!”
Apparently - per Club Libby Lu’s site - they have decided to award the prize to someone else. As they should. This kind of tactic should NEVER be rewarded.

Wow, just wow. I clicked on comments to agree that this is a despicable act. My children lost their father, my beloved husband, on Aug 26, 2007. To “say whatever you can” in order to win is disgusting. But, “typically Hispanic” mixed in with all the other comments here? I’m very sorry, but that behavior is no better than Ms. Ceballos’.
I am outraged at the lie that this woman told, just to get tickets to a Miley Cyrus/Hannah Montana concert. I read her statement on the Today show, and she keeps gushing about how sorry she is for lying…… point is, she LIED, and being a 25 year old mother, she knew it was wrong!!!!

I have a 7 year old little girl… whose daddy DID die in 2003- (not in Iraq, but death is death); and because I have morals, values, and standards, I would NEVER EVER sit down with her and coach her in writing a letter just to win stupid concert tickets.

As the mother of a Marine, I think it is disgraceful to use the death of a Marine or soldier to play on someone’s sympathy in order to get anything. I agree with the comment about sending her to boot camp, or better yet, have her spend some time with a family who has lost their loved one in this war. Disgraceful is an understatement.

Isn’t she setting a precedent for her daughter — i.e., it’s okay to lie and cheat to get what you want. I think that’s the message she is sending her daughter, and I think it was a good lesson for both of them to have gotten caught. Sometimes, we can’t always get what we want.

First and foremost…this mother doesn’t seem to show much emotion on the TODAY show for her poor judgement and disrespect to our AWESOME Service Men and Women!!!! SHE IS A SICK WOMAN! In addition, she not only helped her daughter lie, but she actually submitted the essay for her daughter. Upon viewing the actual handwriting on the essay, it is blatantly obvious that a 6 year old doesn’t have that nice of handwriting. As a school teacher, we are thrilled for those 8, 9, and 10 year olds that strive for that fine motor skill level. Perhaps that is why the mother asked the camera crew to not discuss the letter with her daughter…her daughter didn’t even know what her mom had submitted.
And, for CYNTHIA….you are just as much of a disgrace to support this mother’s poor judgement. Can’t help but wonder if you would try similar antics???
What a fine example to set for one’s child. I’m a Marine and I’m totally disgusted with people using the war as an excuse for sympathy. I have Marines who have lost brother Marines, wives who have lost love ones and they ask for nothing except prayers and upholding the memory of one who has fallen. Again, I am completely disgusted with people like Ms. Ceballos who lack the creativeness and drive to inspire _her_ children to do well; instead of using the lame excuse of “we did whatever we could do to win” to make up for her shortcomings in being a mother who fails to set “good” examples for her children to follow!
I just watched her apology. She knew exactly what she was doing. She has embraced the “other” American dream…do whatever you can to get ahead. How many of us have lied, cheated and/or manipulated to get what we want? If she was black, some of you would be spewing the n-word. If she was yellow, some of you would be calling her a “damn oriental.” What she did was wrong in every sense, but come on, politicians lie, clergy lie…people lie.
I do feel sorry for her daughter because she is learning some of the wrong things to do. I am a teacher and most of what I see my students say and do stems from their parents.
This idiot goes beyond scum. She alleged to Matt Lauer she “wouldn’t accept the tickets,” I thought the tickets were revoked from her. Why didn’t Matt Lauer take her to task on that? And, she dares to attempt a noble face before the public on the today show? How about her idiot sister saying it was a “Christmas Story.” What? And, “my sister didn’t know the story had to be true.” The only reason this lady didn’t realize the prize in full is because she was caught! If she wasn’t caught she’d be flying to the concert next week! What is the matter with people in this country? Is any celebrity worth that kind of socio-pathic conduct? Boy, it’s hard to write about this despicable woman without using profane, vulgar language, but I think I did it! And the psychologist blaming Americans for their outrage over this, stating that the “country is raw right now, because of all the young men losing their lives in Iraq.” No, we are outraged over the criminal conduct of this woman, not because our “nerves are raw.” Better go before I start using gutter language…
I heard Friday that this woman is planning to file a lawsuit because they didn’t specify that the essay had to be “true” and took the tickets away. Has anyone heard this yet?

I am ASTONISHED at the venom poured out to this woman. I wish this venom would be directed to the real liar in all this and that is to the president that is killing our soldiers for his personal and his friends’ monetary gain. Does she really deserve all of this hate for trying to win a silly contest? Who here hasn’t lied to get something they wanted (or get out of something bad)? How often have members of this “vaunted” military we seem to idolize now lied to each other and to civilians? I agree that she shouldn’t be suprised by the reaction considering the current anti-war/pro-soldier climate, but the hyprocrisy in the hate-filled reactions is much worse than her essay.
Terrence, my late husband, the father of my young children, never lied to us or anyone else. And, I still would not use his death to gain something. For me, it has nothing to do with the military and everything to do with walking in the shoes of somebody else. I feel sorry for the child. Because she has to grow up with this “instant fame” for something less than desirable. Her mother, on the other hand, only receives this widow’s disgust.
