Iowa Caucus Winners: Obama, Huckabee

The antiquated Iowa caucus is over and the winners are Barack Obama for the Democrats and Mike Huckabee for the Republicans.  Both were clear cut winners with over 30% of the votes.

Hillary Clinton finished a disappointing third, with John Edwards claiming the runner-up spot of the Democrats.

Rudy Giuliani did not campaign in Iowa and has been spending his money and time in New Hampshire.

Here is how the Democrat candidates fared:

Barack Obama

  1. Barack Obama – 38%
  2. John Edwards – 30%
  3. Hillary Clinton – 29%
  4. Bill Richardson – 2%
  5. Joe Biden – 1%
  6. Dodd – 0%
  7. Dennis Kucinich – 0%

Here is how the Republican candidates fared:

Mike Huckabee

  1. Mike Huckabee – 34%
  2. Mitt Romney – 25%
  3. Fred Thompson – 13%
  4. John McCain – 13%
  5. Ron Paul – 10%
  6. Rudy Giuliani – 4%
  7. Duncan Hunter – 1%
