Iowa Caucus Winners: Obama, Huckabee

The antiquated Iowa caucus is over and the winners are Barack Obama for the Democrats and Mike Huckabee for the Republicans.  Both were clear cut winners with over 30% of the votes.

Hillary Clinton finished a disappointing third, with John Edwards claiming the runner-up spot of the Democrats.

Rudy Giuliani did not campaign in Iowa and has been spending his money and time in New Hampshire. 

Full results for both parties are below.

Here is how the Democrat candidates fared:

Barack Obama

  1. Barack Obama - 38%
  2. John Edwards - 30%
  3. Hillary Clinton - 29%
  4. Bill Richardson - 2%
  5. Joe Biden - 1%
  6. Dodd - 0%
  7. Dennis Kucinich - 0%

Here is how the Republican candidates fared:

Mike Huckabee

  1. Mike Huckabee - 34%
  2. Mitt Romney - 25%
  3. Fred Thompson - 13%
  4. John McCain - 13%
  5. Ron Paul - 10%
  6. Rudy Giuliani - 4%
  7. Duncan Hunter - 1%

    The Iowa caucuses go through four rounds of voting and began on Jan 3, 2008, going from local caucuses to a state convention. How is it that this story reported the winner THE VERY NEXT DAY????!!!!!!
