LSU Demolishes Ohio State in BCS Championship Game
The LSU Tigers crushed the Ohio State Buckeyes 38-17 in New Orleans Monday night to win the BCS Championship game. It is the second BCS Championship for the Tigers in the last five years. They are also the only team in the BCS era to win the BCS Championship twice.
Ohio State came out and scored on a long 65 yard touchdown run by Chris ‘Bennie’ Wells on their first series. The Buckeyes then stopped the Tigers for great field position that led to a short field goal to go up 10-0. Wells ended up rushing for 146 yard on 20 carries.
The LSU Tigers then scored the next 31 points. At halftime the score was 24-10. Jacob Hester, Matt Flynn, Early Doucet, and Demetrius Byrd led the LSU offense in the first half.
Ohio State scored a touchdown, on a short field, after Matt Flynn threw an interception. The Buckeyes score made it 31-17.
LSU scored again on Richard Dickson’s second touchdown reception to make it 38-17. Ohio State followed it up with a late touchdown, with under two minutes left, to make the final score 38-24.
Congrats to Les Miles and the entire LSU football fan. It’s a great night to be an LSU fan and alumn.
Matt Flynn was the Offensive MVP of the Game. He threw for 174 yards to go with four touchdowns against one interception.
Richard ‘Ricky’ Jean Francois was the Defensive MVP of the Game. He blocked a field goal in the first quarter that changed the momentum of the game.
