Mayor Carmen Kontur-Gronquist Racy MySpace Pics
Small town Oregonian mayor Carmen Kontur-Gronquist’s MySpace photos are causing quite a controversy with her electorate.
Some of the mayor’s roughly 500 constituents will want to know her views on the issues affecting the Eastern Oregon community; others will want to talk about her underwear.
The mayor’s lingerie is a hot topic here, with some residents upset that she posted pictures of herself wearing only a black bra and panties on her MySpace page. She was on one of the town’s fire engines.
Kontur-Gronquist’s MySpace page is blocked to all but her friends, but the pictures were at one time available to all users. In an interview with the (Pendleton) East Oregonian, the mayor said she did nothing wrong and those who are offended need to get over it.
Carmen is the mayor of Arlington, Oregon. Around 500 people live in Arlington and Carmen has literally put them on the map with her black bra and panties.
She has blocked her MySpace page so just that her friends can see it. Once we crack her friends list we will see what we can come up with and if we can secure an interview.

I went to school in Arlington and know most of the people there. A real redneck dump.
The truth is Mayor Gronquist brought the budget back in line after the previous administration got the city caught up in owning a golf course.
So the new mayor fired a couple of folks, made a few decisions that needed to be made.
Then, in typical small town fashion, someone dug up some myspace photos from BEFORE her mayorship. Not even all that big a deal.
Arlington’s had drug abusers, alcoholics, adulterers etc. as its mayor. The previous mayor used to sell pot a few years back.
No one dug up their past.
Small town idiocy at its finest.
She has a kick-ass body and SHOULD be showing it off. I’m glad she’s not backing down and for once, isn’t worried about “offending” anyone like the rest of the country.
She is absolutely beautiful! It looks as if her track record speaks for itself in that little town. Besides the town is the “Home of the Honkers” and just maybe they should change that to a different one? I’d vote for her based on her achievements and beauty!
She put the town on the map with this so called scandal! I hope she stands up against it all and just maybe a good court battle with her winning will set a “good” precedence for others too! It’s a free country! Let her do what she wants with her photos and judge her based on her abilities as mayor!

Hey Decent Guy, are you envious of what you cant have? Im not quite sure why you say this is such a bad thing? She didnt use sex to sell herself as mayor, she is already the mayor. She is willing to show her body off, no different than bathing suit photos. While I dislike the way women show off skin in public, we really cant complain about these photos. They are not forced on anyone. ITs not like we are in the grocery store and are forced to stand next to a women in a halter top and super mini skirt. We may find this personally distasteful, but wrong? I think your emotional and untought out reaction is what is actually wrong.

What everyone is missing here is that these are photos for a fitness publication, not for any sexual purpose. It is medically and scientifically proven that being more physically fit increases brain function. Being physically fit proves that she is not lazy, has discipline and focus. These are great qualities that a town should be looking for in a mayor that is going to get things done. And from the sounds of it, she is definitely getting things done!

I think some busy bodies in Arlington need to get a life. The ‘pictures’ in question are no more then the ads you see in your Sunday flyer from Sears or Pennys’ advertising women’s bra’s and panties. Then again, maybe those busy bodies have never seen a paper, turned on a TV or been to a public beach lately. If the mayor has violated the law, then go for the recall if it’s a serious violation. At least when I started my recall against our past mayor, I was after violations of the law and not merely moral issues. I’d ask that all those who support the recall wear something to identify yourselves, that way I can avoid you or your business when I’m in Arlington again. I certainly wouldn’t want to risk violating your morals. Hey, let’s swap our ex-mayor for your current mayor!

I think its crazy to recall her for some underwear photos! It really has nothing at all to do with her ability to do the job. Maybe there is prejudice against pretty people? It takes some brains to stay in top shape after a certain age, so maybe some of the round, more “correct” folks that can’t be seen in their underwear are the less intelligent ones. Besides, the underwear she’s wearing is no more revealing than a 2 piece swimsuit and we’ve all seen women with all kinds of careers in swimsuits. Would people react different if these were bikini photos taken on vacation? I think the reaction to Carmen kontur is sexist & immature.

I think she had a lot of courage for posing to show off that amazing and hot looking body, it’s not like she posed naked, they should worry more about who’s running the country instead of firing the mayor just because she posed for a few pictures.

This is a joke. She has obviously put some real effort into looking good. She has a great body. Wouldn’t a person who goes to great effort be considered a good candidate? She can produce results, as we can see, I think she would be great. What a travesty that such a wonderful “go get em attitude” would be her demise.
