Hillary and McCain Win New Hampshire

Hillary Clinton Bumper Sticker

Hillary Clinton earned a shocking victory in New Hampshire over Barack Obama on Tuesday night.  The win came as a huge surprise to everyone who had been tracking polls and keeping close tabs on her chances in the ‘Granite State’. Hillary beat Barack 39% - 36% (results).

I was a little surprised about Hillary Clinton, as she supposed had a breakdown (though she did not and it may have helped her showing emotion), many of the preliminary polls said she was losing by 10+ to Barack Obama, and the press accosted her chances of winning, which does have an affect on the public, though it can backfire and may have in this incident.

The win pumps life into Clinton’s campaign once again after fears that she might quit the election if she had an embarrassing finish in N.H.  Tonight is a bit of a setback for Obama who thought he was going to win the state by double digits.  His strong second place finish indicates that this is going to be an intense two-man(woman) race for the nomination.

John McCain Bumper Sticker

John McCain is being dubbed the Republican’s version of the ‘Comeback Kid’ after beating Mitt Romney on the GOP side of the New Hampshire primary. McCain was declared the winner early in the evening and ended up beating Romney 37% - 32% (results).

The much hyped New Hampshire Primaries are over and despite what CNN says I don’t find Republican Sen. John McCain and Democratic Sen. Hillary Clinton big surprise winners. I wasn’t surprised at all about John McCain, as he won in NH before and he was leading in the preliminary polls.

Romney now has two second place finishes or ’silvers’ as he was saying in his concession speech late Tuesday night.  Mitt is not dead and is likely going to take this battle for the GOP bid down to the wire.

Rudy Giuliani finished a disappointing fourth after sitting out the Iowa caucus.  Iowa winner Mike Huckabee finished in third place with 11%.
