ESPN Host Dana Jacobson Suspsended for Anti-Jesus Rant
ESPN anchorwoman Dana Jacobson has been suspended by ESPN for one week for her bashing and hate filled rant against Jesus Christ. The comments took place at a roast for fellow ESPN radio hosts Mike & Mike (Mike Greenberg and Mike Golic).
Jacobson started out on ESPNEWS and has since co-hosted Cold Pizza and ESPN First Take.
So what could Jacobson had said that was that bad? Well this is exactly what she said:
“F*** Notre Dame,” “F*** Touchdown Jesus” and finally “F*** Jesus.”
I am hoping she was drunk. I am sure she probably was drunk. Who isn’t drunk at those roasts? But that gives her no reason at all to say the despicable things that she said. A week is a bit light if you ask me. She should probably be fired for good.
I believe many Christians and Catholics as they hear about this will be writing and calling into ABC (the parent company) with their complaints.
What was she thinking? If you have any thoughts drop a comment below!
If you want a good laugh check out the bob haircut she has below.

i can see why she’d be suspended. But there also are a lot of people who aren’t really religious at all, like me. This did not offend me. It might offend others. But the world is constituted by all kinds of things that can offend anybody. Sure, she used innapropriate words regarding the topic, but this is a new world we live in now. we see now that people believe in all sorts of things. if she doesn’t believe in Jesus, well that’s fine.
True it is offensive to some, but it was a ROAST. This wasn’t even aired. People need to relax.
The market place determines what is appropriate and not. If there is a large enough contingency whether it be a minority group or Christian group and they have enough buying power to make a difference by boycotting or attending this or that movie then people listen.
It is why ‘The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe’ was so successful and why ‘The Golden Compass’ bombed. Because the churches were marketed to and supported LWW and boycotted TGC for the most part.
I will be surprised if Jacobson escapes with her job.
She has a misshaped, Satanic face with undertones of the Lon Chaney make-up from London After Midnight… in my opinion.
By the way… churches were not marketed by LWW and TGC… the church knew that C.S. Lewis was Christian and that the guy that wrote THG was an atheist… that simple.
God-damn, I hate the U.S.! This country is sooooooo filled with hypocrites, and “free” it is not. Hey, she spoke some words at a roast, do you even know what that is and what happens and roasts? Get over it! It is so completely unimportant in a world (and country) filled with issues of TRUE IMPORTANCE. The religious right (actually it’s very wrong) is adamantly Stalinistic (read: tyrranical, anything but democratic) in trying to control the thoughts and speech of Americans and anyone on “their” soil. If those people lived, as I myself have for years, in a country that lived through the thought poilcing of the likes of the Soviet Union or the former East Germany, they might, MIGHT begin to truly appreciate the value of the rights and freedoms the Constitution grants them all, and just ignore those they disagree with. Americans seem to wake up in the morning with the goal of being offended.
If I said anything anti-semetic, it would be a different story. The ACLU, JDL and the media would be up in arms characterizing me as prejudice and Hitler-like! I’m not thin skinned, but don’t see the humor in her remarks - why not comment on all the pig-tailed men “crying” at the wailing wall (again nothing funny here).
Jimmy “The Greek” Snyder got fired and his career killed over anti-black comments and Mel Gibson got publicly pilloried for his drunken anti-semitic outburst.
And let’s not forget about what happened to Don Imus and Rush Limbaugh.
But Dana Jacobson spouts out drunken anti-Jesus and anti-Christian remarks in a public forum, while representing ESPN, and she gets support from ESPN and a week off? Gimme a break.
ESPN shows itself to be just as anti-Christian as the rest of the MSN
What was she thinking? She wasn’t. While drunk, her true sentiments and feelings spilled out. She should be fired and black listed, just like Imus and Jimmy The Greek.
Jocko..LWW did market to the churches. I have met with those who put the huge campaign together, I even have some of the marketing materials sent out to the churches in my possession. LWW was marketed to and thru the churches much the same way ‘The Passion of the Christ’ was. That is why churches rented out theaters and such in the same way. It was a multi-million dollar push of ad’s and ad materials sent to churches all over the United States regarding LWW.
Yes many Christians knew C.S. Lewis was a famed Christian and word spread quickly that TGC was written by an athiest.
Jeff, if you don’t like the U.S., then by all means, get the f*ck out.
I’m glad they suspended her. Arrogant bitch.
Way to go Jenna!
By the way Jeff, God’s last name is not “damn”.
You are right though, Dana Jacobson did “only speak some words at a roast”, but jimmy-crack-corn she will be held accountable for her choice of words…just like you will for your little “gd” blurb. Just because you guys are unbelievers doesn’t change the Truth at all. AND this IS America…you have the right to be wrong. For someone who hates the US you sure seem to be enjoying the right of free speech.
God’s grace is Amazing…ask for some.. He has plenty.
What the sports blogs are being told is that she was vary drunk during the whole event. She was seen drinking stright from a bottle of belvedere and had to be helped/ushered off stage as she was being booed by the people in attendance.
Yes, thankfully, we live in a place where we can voice our opinions and say a lot of things that may be offensive to our neighbors. However, that is changing with our changing population. We have many minority groups living in America, and that’s a good thing. Along with this, comes the heightened chances of offending each group by our words. What we truly believe usually spills out at one time or another, no matter how careful we try to be. If we respect each persons right to their own beliefs, we don’t have too much to worry about.
The problem is this…if some groups are going protected from having to hear things that offend them, then all groups need this same protection. Each group is fighting for protection, afraid of losing their freedom (and voice/power) to the next. Pretty soon, no one will be able to say much at all. We all need to let people say what they are going to say. We can choose to associate with them and their organization or not.
I personally do not like (understatement) what this anchorwoman said. However, it is up to her superiors to decide if they want someone with such a lack of judgment (where her words are concerned) working for them. If I am offended, I can let them know…in this country, our voices and our dollars count.
America’s freedoms and protection must extend to ALL groups equally, no matter how big or small the group may be.
ok espn; you choose! One of us is leaving; will it be me or her?
I think her comments were absurd and very unprofessional. She should be held in the same respect that we place all these athletes and movie stars, and furthermore should be held responsible for her words and actions. Also, as a Christian myself, and also a avid ESPN watcher, I am very much turned off. To make matters worse, she only got a week suspension. Again completely irresponsible and unprofessional to say the least!
To Jeff: Since you are so concerned about rights guaranteed by the Constitution, does that
also apply to those who use the “n” word or display nooses? You and your “PC” folks are
responsible for what is happening in this country. Hypocrite personified!!
Drunkeness doesn’t give her a license for the horrible behavior. Truth be known, if she publicly defamed ‘ALLAH’ the same way, Al Qaeda would assign a hit squad to take her out. Or if she made the same comments about MLK Jr., what would happen to her? Certainly more a slap on the wrist and a couple days off. But in reality people, JESUS is about forgiveness. He set a fine example when he was being MURDERED, by praying for the people who were instrumental in his capture. Instead of complaining about her or condeming her, why don’t we all just pray for her. JESUS has already forgiven her. At least, in true ‘Beach Boy’ fashion she is true to her school, anyway.
Everyone seems to be ignoring the fact the message was delivered by a Jew, is being defended by Jews, and was planned as a promotion of a Jewish radio talk show host. It sure looks like Christian hate to me.
I am very offended by these comments that were made by Ms Jacobson. I think that she should be fired for good. If these comment were made about aany other religgeous figure besides Jesus Christ they would not even think twice about having her fired. The Christians of the world need to stand up and be recognized.
All I know is that is she said the same thing about Muhammad, no doubt she would have been axed. Not only that, she would have never been able to ever get another job in the looney liberal media ever again. In this crazy country you get a week off for saying F Jesus, but you say something about the assholes who blew up 3000 American, killed and continue to kill our military soliders, and continue to try and blow up anyone who likes freedom, not only do you lose your job you lose your career. I know it was a roast and I know how the go, but that still is a public event, which I am sure Espn will make some money off of. Not only that can you imagine if she would have said F Fags or F Blacks. Holy Crap, she would have been destroyed and it would have been a national main stream media story. This is about how certain people are protect and other are not, which sounds to be like another kind of oppression. Here is the deal, I believe is freedom of speech, so it either needs to be you can say whatever the hell you want and no problem, or when you say stupid nasty shit then everyone pays the same price. But this isnt going to happen because the left wing media and aclu are only going to protect those who the agree with while at the same time trying to oppress those who they hate. That is the truth about this story, if she was at a “we hate jesus ralley” then I wouldnt give a crap and I am a christian, but if someone is going to make a public remark like this one, in this venue, then she should really get the same as if she said something about Islam, Gays, or Blacks. But of course she doesnt!
Our family & friends here in Hawaii have relied heavily on ESPN News, ABC Sports and the family oriented Disney Organization for many years. In today’s world of sensitivity to many ethnic and religious subjects it is the responsiblity of all media presented to behave in an unbiased and non-offensive manner whether they have had too much to dirnk or not. We hold our teachers, political figures, actors, sports figures and even “DOG” the bounty hunter to a certain standard when it comes to communication styles that are meant to be racist or blasphemous and put out into the world for scrutiny. ESPN et.al. has a responsiblity to their VIEWERS and their SPONSORS to make sure that if one of their employess commits a nearly unforgivable attack on Jesus Christ during her rantings, they must be held accountable. Many of our family and friends will NOT be purchasing products by your sponsors or watch your station until this matter has been satisfactorily rectfied. The thought of ever seeing her face in my home again is offensive and we would not want our vulnerable teenage family members to view.
DANA JACOBSON NEEDS TO BE FIRED! It must be offensive to you and your other professional employees that there is an appearance of condoning her behavior thereby discrediting yourselves.
I am so tired of turning the other cheek, as Jesus said. I am Outraged , how dare she, if she said something about Mohamad she would be fired and beheaded. Yes, times have changed , but we still need to respect others and thier beliefs. I am a Christian and I demand as much respect everyone else.
wow a lot of you really hit the nail on the head. If this had been an anti-Semetic or racial comment it would have been all the over the news, headlining the newspapers and every readio and tv station (us Catholics really need to get Al Sharpton). I had to hear it word of mouth and when you send an e-mail to espn to complain all you get is a automated, basically “shut up were sick of listening to you” e-mail response back.
She should lose her job. If it was an anti-Islam, anti-Muhammad rant she would be dead by now.
But on a lighter note can you imagine going to college with Dana? You know she was that extremely sloppy drunk sorority girl that you could grind from behind at the party and have back in your dorm room within the hour.
lol
she should be commended, why do you all you christian think you have to f*cking SAVE ME? A good day for me is someone not talking to me about jesus
