Bummer! Miss Michigan was so generic and really perpetuates the stereotypes of overdone and boring pageant girls. So much for TLC network trying to reinvigorate the Miss America brand. Trump and his Miss USA system are really winning this contest. I am sad b/c the Miss America girls actually have to show talent and not just sex appeal. What a let down! I hope that next year the public has more input or that more dynamic judges and hosts are selected. I had such great hopes after the “reality check” series aired!

I liked both of the runners up (Elyse Umemoto and Niclole Rash) more than the winner. Durinng TLC’s “Reality Check” series, they both showed some growth and class. Miss Michigan wasn’t even on the radar! What a disappointment. Unless the pageant system wants to run itself into obscurity, some major changes will have to take hold. The whole pageant tried this year with the DJ on stage and other antics, but the final result was still the crowning of an old school pageant girl! Judges should have been pulled from TLC’s resources as a “makeover” network.
