Barbara Walters has stated that she talked to Sam Lufti, acting manager for Britney Spears, and that he is saying that Spears is seeing a “psychiatrist” for mental issues which are “treatable”.  Barbara made the comments on this morning’s episode of ‘The View’.

“She has been to a psychiatrist,” Walters, 78, said, recounting Lutfi’s explanation over the phone. “She, I assume, is starting some kind of treatment.”

Walters also reported that Spears was having trouble sleeping and was suffering from “mood swings,” but that she was back in touch with her mother, Lynne Spears.

Spears for over a year now has been dealing with several issues, mostly self-inflicted from her erratic behavior.
