Johan Santana Traded to the New York Mets
Minnesota Twins pitcher Johan Santana has been traded to the New York Mets for four minor league prospects. the prospects are outfielder Carlos Gomez and pitchers Phil Humber, Deolis Guerra, and Kevin Mulvey.
Santana has won the prestigious Cy Young Award twice (2004, 2006). He won a Gold Glove last year (2007). Johan has a career ERA of 3.22 and an overall record of 93-44. He will be 29-years-old when the 2008 season begins.
The deal is contingent upon Santana signing a contract extension with the Mets.
