Daniel Edwards Sculpts ‘The Oprah Sarcophagus’

The David has nothing to do with this figure… The statue is (in part) modelled on the Willendorf Goddess, one of the oldest erotic images known in art, going back about 24,000 years. I’ve actually written a number of reviews of Edwards’ work– not that I’m actually a real art critic, but I understand his game, which he plays on several levels… He’s pretty smart, a pretty talented sculptor, and loves to stir up controversy. You should check out his nude Britney Spears birth sculpture, Paris Hilton autopsy statue, and even his severed head of Walt Disney.
