New York Mets pitcher Pedro Martinez is in a bit of hot water publicilly for a video that shows him at a cock fight in the Dominican Republic.  He is seen on the tape delivering the cock to the ring.  He is watching and laughing during the actual battle royale with baseball Hal of Famer Juan Marichal.

The video shows Mets star Martinez and Marichal serving as “soltadores” — the people who release the animals into the death ring. As the fight goes on — which we have chosen not to show — Martinez and Marichal can be seen in the audience, smiling and laughing.

Pedro technically did nothing wrong. Cock fighting is legal in the United States.  You can bet that PETA won’t let Pedro off easily though.  Although we will see if PETA cares as much about chickens as they do about dogs (see Michael Vick).
