‘Jaws’ Actor Roy Scheider Dies at 75
Actor Roy Scheider has died of complications of a staph infection at the age of 75. He was best known for his role as police chief Martin Brody in the epic shark classic Jaws.
Roy Scheider, best known for his role as cop afraid of boats that takes on Great White shark , passed away at the age of 75.
Scheider has been seen in movies and television sine the 1950’s and has also completed two movies that are in post production. His most famous line that was voted the 35th best line in movie history was “We’re gonna need a bigger boat!”
Scheider was diagnosed with myeloma in 2004 which affects plasma cells. He had a bone marrow transplant in 2005. He died in Little Rock, Arkansas at the University of Arkansas Medical Sciences Hospital.
He is survived by his second wife, Brenda Siemer Scheider.
