‘Married With Children’ Producer Ron Leavitt Dies
Ron Leavitt, the producer/writer who brought us ‘Married With Children’, has died at the age of 60-years-old in Los Angeles. Leavitt died from lung cancer.
A native of Brooklyn, Leavitt began his television career in the 1970s writing episodes for laffers “Happy Days,” “Laverne & Shirley” and “The Bad News Bears.”
In 1987, Leavitt co-created “Married … With Children” with Michael G. Moye. He went on to exec produce and write or co-write almost 150 episodes of the show, which became the second-longest running sitcom on Fox, behind “The Simpsons.” The skein was nominated seven times for Emmys.
Ron was living with the beautiful Jessica Hahn at the time of his death.
The world is a better place because of Ron’s creation of Al and Peg Bundy.
