John McCain Romantically Linked to Vicki Iseman

Vicki IsemanThe New York Times, in an article published for tomorrow’s print issue of the newspaper, romantically ties Republican Presidential front runner John McCain to Vicki Iseman.  Iseman is a female lobbyist that was spotted with McCain often over the course of several weeks.  McCain’s people quickly told John to distance himself from contact with Iseman.

A female lobbyist had been turning up with him at fund-raisers, visiting his offices and accompanying him on a client’s corporate jet. Convinced the relationship had become romantic, some of his top advisers intervened to protect the candidate from himself — instructing staff members to block the woman’s access, privately warning her away and repeatedly confronting him, several people involved in the campaign said on the condition of anonymity.

Mr. McCain, 71, and the lobbyist, Vicki Iseman, 40, both say they never had a romantic relationship. But to his advisers, even the appearance of a close bond with a lobbyist whose clients often had business before the Senate committee Mr. McCain led threatened the story of redemption and rectitude that defined his political identity.

After reading most of the article it seems that there is not a whole lot to this story.  If further details emerge it could be costly to McCain’s bid for the White House.  It also could help the old man out by showing that McCain can still spit mad game at a broad that is over three decades younger than the Senator.

Keep reading for Iseman’s bio and profile.

Here is a look at Iseman’s profile from her firm’s website:

Vicki Iseman, Partner, represents corporate and public clients on issues as diverse as government contracting and regulatory reform. Her experience includes representation of clients before Congress, Federal government agencies and local opinion leaders.

She has extensive experience in telecommunications, representing corporations before the House and Senate Commerce Committees. Her work on the landmark 1992 and 1996 communications bills helped secure cable access for broadcast television stations. Her experience in the communications field includes digital television conversion, satellite regulations and telecommunications ownership provisions.

She has been active in grassroots communications campaigns for clients, building community based support for legislative initiatives. Among others, she participated in the “Keep America Moving” campaign that educated community leaders on the allocation of Federal highway trust funds.

In addition, she has consulted for clients who are interested in government contracting opportunities. She has assisted corporations through the authorization and appropriation process. An active fundraiser, she has organized and participated in many political fundraising events.

A native of Pennsylvania, she holds a B.A. degree in Education from Indiana University in Pennsylvania.

Is it a big blow to McCain’s run for President if he had an affair with Iseman?

One of the problems with posing the question, “If he had an affair,” is that it adds fuel to the fire. However, we live in a great society where fortunes and destiny can change overnight. This could be an advantage for John McCain if he handles it right. He can hope that his relationship with Iseman is strong enough to keep her off ” the campaign trail.” He should point to the fact that he is running for President of the United States and he has nothing to admit. Then after clearing the air move on down the campaign trail. Focus on the future and work on the enormous task of getting elected. People are watching, and accusations and rumors will put on display a seasoned veteran who works well in the midst of crisis.

There’s no accounting for how the general public will process this. but I think what can be said for sure is that progressives will claim that the complete debunking of this story in The New Republic is a conspiracy by PNAC, and they’ll be telling this story as if it were true a month and a year from now anyway.

This is crazy! I’m just so happy that something bad is in the light of a conservative, just so the democratic party can win. hehe! YAY!

However, I know there are no actual facts regarding this scandal, but it has surely caused turmoil!

I love THE NEW YORK TIMES!!!!!!

I thought this was great from

“Men are stupid, especially men of his generation, who were still convinced that as men, the world revolves around their every whim.
Could explain the valium addiction his wife went through.
The big difference between the wife and mistress? The wife is worth hundreds of millions of dollars.

Every year lobbyists hire a new crop of hotties out of college and set them loose on the Legislature. Short, short skirts, and four inch heals are the uniform, and they all line up in the front row of every committee meeting, and cross their legs for all to see. Their job is simple, score a date for lunch/dinner/drinks then ambush them with 3 suits from the lobby firm for the hard sell.

Half of them never come back next year, in tears over the disrespect they felt, the other half thrive on the power and attention, and become quite good at the game. Maybe 10% sleep with the client, but most of the game is about the tease.

Ms. Iseman fits the stereotype perfectly, dressed as a plaything for power, and the ploy really does work. Men are not that complicated, power corrupts, and there is no fool like an old fool.”
