Is ‘American Idol’ Finalist David Hernandez a Gay Stripper?
The season seven American Idol controversy could hinge on a strong rumor that is spreading that contestant David Hernandez was working as a gay stripper before being selected to appear on the reality TV singing contest.
I just read about this over at BackseatCuddler.com and you can find a lot more info and scandalous photos at BSC.
It appears the male stripper part of the story might be correct.

Man, who really gives a shit if he was working as a gay stripper? It doesn’t make him a bad person, for chrissakes. Let him be.
Correct me if I am wrong, but I thought American Idol was how the person did on the program, how he or she sung, not his or her past history. So what if this guy was a gay stripper, or even a straight stripper, in the past, has nothing to do with today. BTW since the word “gay” hit, isn’t that the real issue???? I am sure American Idol will not be happy with this, but hey, look around at all the other Hollywood Stars, from drunk driving, to murder, to wearing hardly any cloths on and off screen…and David is being slammed, for his previous work. Taking his cloths off, to make a living, isn’t as bad as drunk driving…he hurt no one. I will most definately vote now, on Idol, and will vote for him.
Ummm let’s see, straight stripper vs gay stripper….wonder what would have been said if he was a straight stripper…leave the guy alone, let him sing, and judge him on that. If he is taken from Idol…think it’s time to stop watching the program, stop the high ratings.

Gay, Straight…I could care less. The truth be said, I think that there are a great many people out there having to do whatever is necessary to earn a living. Many of whom are qualified for much more, but have yet had the right opportunity come along. This is his moment of opportunity and I personally wish him the very best. I know if I were hungry enough, I’d rip off my clothes. Sadly, it would afford only a meager source of income for me as I am not nearly as easy on the eyes. Good Luck David…you have my support!
GAY IS DEFINITELY THE WORD!! No one would blink if he stripped at a ladies joint—we are such a hypocritical and sad society of biggots and racists that it sickens me.
I think or actually I know there is more to the story to unfold especially comming from the horses mouth, keep diging everyone your bound to find it, and it’s even more shocking then this gay stripper line, though it has alot to do with it!
It doesn’t matter what we think. What counts for a crooner or an actor is his effect on the fickle sex: can he seduce them with a song, “caress them with his voice” as the King liked to say? If a woman believes the singer isn’t into women, how will she allow him into her heart or her fantasy? Remember Rock Hudson. Or just look at Ricky Martin, who wants to keep everybody guessing (not many are, alas). He knows which side of the bed his bread and butter are on. To get to the top you’ve gotta be the one on top…( BTW, DD and about 99% of you others, the expression “I could care less” actually means that you do care. Think about it. )

and has the look and voice to be a star…this is 2008 and it doesnt matter what his sexual orientation is…besides little do you know that most male strippers at gay clubs are str8
stripping for women is no where near as lucrative as it is dancing for men
and from what i understand the club he worked at was an upper class establishment
and there are many more male strip clubs for men then there are for women
as most of the world should already know…we do what we have to do to survive what life has in-store for us…this singing competition is about more than singing we all know that but does it really have to do with his sexual orientation…discrimination is discrimination whether it is for race, religion or sexual orientation…

american should be proud with Hernandez’ performance, he’s such great performer, everyone should not care his past, whoever is he because only gossip can deteriorate that top rating of this show.
let’s help him to rise not to push down, be proud of him.
