The women tonight were all pretty good. Trying to rank them was tough as very little separates about six of these women. But here is how I have ranked the remaining eight women from American Idol season 7.

1. Carly Smithson – Carly seems the most authentic of the women. She sang ‘I Drove All Night’. Even with the high waist pant point reduction I thought she was the best. (Watch Video Performance)
2. Brooke White – Brooke is really good every week. Her rendition of ‘Love Is A Battlefield’ was stripped down, bare and one of the better performances of the night. (Watch Video Performance)
3. Kristy Lee Cook – KLC sang ‘Faithfully’ with a bit of a country twang so the judges said. I didn’t notice it really too much. Everyone seems to be pulling for Kristy and she was easily one of the top five of the night. (Watch Video Performance)
4. Amanda Overmyer – A bit too husky for my taste but pretty good none-the-less. She should smile a bit more and enjoy the ride. Hard not to think she has a really dark side to her. She is the truest rocker of the bunch. (Watch Video Performance)
5. Asia’h Epperson – She sang ‘I Wanna Dance Someone’ and got the night off to a very upbeat and fun start. Points deducted for those mortifying high waist pants. (Watch Video Performance)
6. Ramiele Malubay – ‘Against All Odds,’ Ramiele delivered a very strong performance and many viewers will rate her performance as one of the best of the night. (Watch Video Performance)
7. Syesha Mercado – Syesha is good but I thought her performance of ‘Saving All My Love For You’ was a bit forgettable and if I wasn’t looking at a list of tonight’s performances I wouldn’t have been able to recall it. She very easily could be back next week though. (Watch Video Performance)
8. Kady Malloy – I think Kady has as much potential as anyone remaining on the women’s side but she has been a bit of a let down. She has so much personality off stage and as it has been well documented, she is extremely bland once she performs void of much energy. She is in the most danger of being eliminated this week.
