The name Kardashian today is most associated with socialites Kim, Kourtney, Khloe and Robert Jr. The name was known thoughout the country in the mid-90′s thanks to their father Robert Kardashian.

Kardashian rose to national prominence as one of O.J. Simpson’s attorneys in 1994. Simpson had befriended Robert when they met playing tennis several years before O.J.’s infamous Bronco chase and murder trial.

Robert was likely more friend than attorney, as he had let his license lapse years before when he went into business for himself. He reactivated it for O.J.’s trial and was often seated near the end of the defense table during the proceedings.

Kardashian, years after the trial, hinted at his own doubts over Simpson’s innocence.

Bob is mentioned several times throughout the E! reality TV show Keeping Up With The Kardashians.

Robert died in 2003 from esophageal cancer at the age of 59. He was survived by his former wife Kris, daughters Kim, Kourtney, Khloe and Robert Jr.
