We first reported in early February that country star Sara Evans and former Alabama quarterback Jay Barker were in fact dating.  Now we are pleased to announce that the happy couple is engaged.

“The couple are enjoying their engagement and look forward to their upcoming nuptials,” Genes says. The couple have yet to set a wedding date.

Evans, 37, who has three children with ex Craig Schelske, and Barker, who has four children from his previous marriage, began dating before Thanksgiving last year. Evans’s divorce was finalized in September.

Congrats to Jay on landing Sara. That is about as good as a former Alabama quarterback can hope to do in life.

Barker is currently employed as a radio host in Alabama.  The status quo for all former Bama quarterbacks.  He did lead the Tided to the 1992 National Championship.
