Rose with the strongest O-rebound I have seen in the tournament by any player. He grabbed it from 3 players and put up a reverse layup from behind the backboard. Anderson finally scores on a strong move to the rim. Back up to a 9-point lead. He has played strong D despite his offensive worries. Memphis has a second wind all of a sudden. UCLA is on a nice run and truly the aggressor. Score Memphis 50 - UCLA 45, 13:32 remaining.
Westbrook now has 15 points off a nifty move. Memphis is getting choked by the refs as they did two years ago. It appears the NCAA had a good talk with them at half time. There is nothing more frustrating than referees calling a game one way one half and the exact opposite the next half. Just be consistent so the players can adjust. Score Memphis 50 - UCLA 41, 14: 22 remaining.
All the whistles are going against Memphis. Memphis can’t win this game with the zebras calling it like a 3rd grade girls game. Rose takes one the length of the court and is fouled. He is perhaps the fastest player with the ball in college basketball. Will he go #1 in the draft? Score Memphis 48 - UCLA 37, 16:37 remaining

Rocky finish to the first half for Memphis. There looked to be a couple of no-calls. Hard to believe Love plays that big and rough and doesn’t pick up fouls. The halftime score is Memphis 38 - UCLA 35.

Great defensive block by CDR. UCLA has three turnovers in a row. Memphis flipped it over their last time as well. Monster dunk for Taggert on a Rose miss in transition.
This game is a bit too fast for K-Love. His conditioning is going to be tested in this one. Coach Ben Howland has already gave him a couple of breathers here in the first half hoping he will make it to the end of the game without having to get oxygen. Score 28-23, 7:25 remaining
The play has got a bit wild. A horrible 3 attempt by Antonio Anderson that bounced all the way back to him at half court. Derrick Rose makes a nice move and basket in transition.
Rose is back in the game thank goodness and hits a quick basket over Darren Collison. Taggert is providing some good help off the bench down low for Memphis. His defense so far tonight has been a lot stronger than most of the season. Coach John Calipari benched Taggert often throughout the season for his lackadaisical D. Stupid foul on Joey Dorsey coming out of the timeout. Shawn Taggert hits a big 3 off the bench. Three pointer by Westbrook. Willie Kemp has come in to spell Rose. Timeout - score Memphis 22 - UCLA 21, 11:39 remining.
Wow! What a start! UCLA came out strong. A couple of early fouls on Russell Westbrook and Derrick Rose. Rose and Chris Douglas-Roberts are looking very sharp.
