The American Idol contestants come out tonight to open the show by singing Mariah Carey and Boyz II Men’s hit ‘One Sweet Day’. They did a great job with the song and likely made Mariah very happy.

Former finalist Elliot Yamin sang ‘Free’ and souled it out. I wish all these jokers would give up wearing scarfs inside in the spring time. It reminds me of when they record a Christmas special in September that is going to air on Christmas day and everyone is wearing winter clothes and scarves so it will look legit when it airs.

Here is my review from last night’s Idol

Mariah sang ‘Bye Bye’ from her new album E=MC2. She looked as good as she ever has and appears to be mentally on top of her game again.  I am not 100% sure she wasn’t lip synching.

The bottom three contestants this week were Kristy Lee Cook, Syesha Mercado, and Brooke White.

Kristy Lee Cook (Selma, Oregon) – ‘Forever’

She skirted and flirted with danger for many weeks.  Kristy Lee was improving each and every week but she had no shot at really making it to the finals.  She should find a country music deal at some point though.
