Bumpshack’s 2007-2008 NBA Awards

Here are the winners of Bumpshack’s 2007-2008 NBA Awards. Despite David Stern, this NBA season was one of the best of my lifetime and easily the best since Michael Jordan’s retirement from the Chicago Bulls for the second time.

Chris Paul gets my MVP vote as he took the New Orleans Hornets, who were expected to finish near the bottom of the West, and led them to a second place finish in the conference. He averaged 21.1 points - 4.0 rebounds - 11.6 assists compared against just 2.5 turnovers. He also shot 37% from behind the 3-point line and 85% from the charity stripe.

Rudy Gay? Are you serious? I think you had your Memphis tinted glasses on for that one. Bynum by far, he didn’t even exist last year, not he is a major reason that the Lakers are good.

True but Rudy played an entire season whereas Andrew played just 35 games.

Andrew went from 8 ppg 6 rpg last season to 13 ppg and 10 rpg in his measly 35 games played before getting hurt.

Rudy went from 11 ppg 4 rpg last season to 20 ppg and 5 rpg this year in 81 games played.

You are right as well, but where will your Griz be playing next month?

    Taking a well deserved break..lol

Don’t look for Bynum to be playing either. His injury is a lot worse than he and the Lakers thought. He had to quit practicing because of pain in the knee. I don’t see him coming back before next year.

And for the record Gasol (Grizzlies gift to the Lakers) will be playing for the Lakers all month long.

I should have stated it a different way. What city will they be playing in next year?

Memphis next year…perhaps Seattle year after next sadly. Could all change with Derrick Rose or Michael Beasley…but good luck and ping pong balls have never been on the Grizz side.
