QB Steve McNair Retires from NFL
NFL quarterback Steve McNair has announced to his Baltimore Ravens teammates that he is retiring from the team and league after thirteen years as a pro.
McNair rose to fame with the Tennessee Titans and led them to their only Super Bowl appearance in 2000 coming just a yard short of winning the big game. If he did he stays retired his final numbers will be 31,304 passing yards for 174 touchdowns. He also rushed for 3,590 yards and 37 rushing touchdowns.
He is one of just three quarterbacks in the history of the league to throw for over 30,000 yards and run for over 3,000 yards. The other two are Fran Tarkenton and Steve Young.
