Bad Tipper: LeBron James Tips 1.25% on $800 Tab
![]()
LeBron James might be the ‘King of Akron’ but he is not going to have too many waiters lining up to serve him and his posse in Cleveland if he continues to tip 1.25% on $800 tabs.
Here is how it all went down:
It went down like this: LeBron pulls up in his Mercedes outside XO. People stop and try not to stare, but c’mon, it’s LeBron James. He enters the restaurant with a group of friends. On this special occasion, the King decides to dine late. He keeps his group there until around 3:45 a.m. During this time the waiter obsequiously pours drinks and fetches anything else His Greatness needs.
The final bill comes to $800. By the feudal laws of decorum, which stipulate that the affluent should administer a 20 percent gratuity, staffers figured they’d be pocketing an extra $160. But when they fetched the autographed bill after His Heinousness bolted back to Akron, their expectation turned to disbelief, then anger.
LeBron stiffed them with a meager $10 tip.
LeBron is making over $13 million dollars in salary alone this year. He is making another $20 million plus in endorsements. So LBJ is making around $33 million bucks and he is still tipping like he is out in middle school with his girl at Denny’s.
Come on King that is just bad form and only adds to certain stereotypes. The BumpWife has been out with Michael Jordan when he was throwing down several Franklin’s on a much smaller tab. If you want to be great then be great off the court to those staying open hours after closing time who are making min. wage or less + tips.

I’m not surprised. Just because he’s rich doesn’t mean he has any class. Typical. I got $12 on a $200 check yesterday from an NBA player.
You can take the boy out of the ghetto but you can’t take the ghetto out of the man
While we are shocked at his “typical” ghetto tip all he is now is ghetto with money. You’d think he would have the common sense of leaving 10% (just swing the decimal over dumbass) for a less than mediocre tip at best….but 1.25%??? I’d throw it back at him and say apparently he needs it more than I do.
I love how he’s all of a sudden ghetto. Maybe he got bad service?!
Gerard, shut the hell up. Bad service?? You don’t keep a waiter up until 3:45 AM and then tip $10, regardless of the service. Anyways I highly doubt the service was bad, the restuarant manager probably had his best 2 or 3 servers waiting on LeBron’s table. I lost a lot of respect for LeBron after reading this b/s.
I wouldnt say all NBA players are like that. I tdrove a player for the orlando Magics to a restaurant, waited and took him back to his hotel, a total of maybe 2 hours, and maybe 3 miles total. He gave me 300 bucks. Unfortunately, in our line of work, we have to take the good with the bad. Sometimes, you get the greatful people who understand that in the service and hospitality industry, we LIVE off of our tips. They understand that if it wasn’t for us, they would be driiving/serving themselves everywhere they go. Then you get the pathetic people that think that we need “real jobs” but if we don’t serve on them hand and foot, and give them everything on a silver platter, they complain and throw a tantrum like a 2-year old. These are the type of people that no matter what you do for them, they will never be happy. They think they are a god and don’t deserve what they have.
Wait till he gets to NY and pulls that crap. He won’t be able to get a pizza delivered to his place.
