ANTM sucks
Ok… first let me say that I disagree with your assertion that a lot of ANTM winners never get anywhere. It all depends on the type of modeling and fashion that you focus on. I have seen Jaslene in a lot of places. As a matter of fact, she was in another country’s Vogue not too long ago. And she does many fashion shows. Also, Eva and Danielle has done a lot as well, but it depends what magazines (etc) that you pay attention to.
With that said, I will agree that her being “full-figured” did have a little to do her winning. ANTM producers definitely wanted someone of a different body type to win; it was obvious. In my opinion, Anya was definitely the best throughout the entire competition. I think it is weird that someone loses that: had the most consecutive first call-outs, the most call outs, the “best” portfolio which is proven by the fact that she had the most first call outs, never in the bottom two, and the most challenge wins.
Something about this is kind of weird. Anyone who does not think that Top Model wanted a full-figured model to win is naive. They know that people would have been pissed if there was never a full-figured model as the winner of ANTM. I do think that Whitney is good (and deserved to even be in the Top 2). She did not deserve to beat Anya though. But, this is just my opinion. Please do not attack me for it.
I think Whitney won because she has been the best candidate out of the plus-sized girls who have ever competed and the producers and Tyra probably thought that this may be the best one they’ll ever get. This has CLEARLY been an agenda of Tyra’s since cycle one. I don’t have a problem with that because… well, it’s a reality show.
