Happy Memorial Day!
Thanks to all the veterans who have served and to the families of those soldiers who gave the ultimate sacrifice.
Here is a look at how the world’s two biggest search engines honored Memorial Day:
Yahoo! had a very nice tribute with the Purple Heart medal and dog tags. Google, the king of special tributes, did NOTHING!
Here is a great story about Frank Woodruff Buckles who is the oldest living vet in the United States. He is the only remaining veteran from World War I. Mr. Buckles is 107-years old. He has lived to see almost three centuries of life.
Thanks for the link E.Brown.
UPDATE: Here is a look at the very patriotic tribute from search engine Dogpile.com:

That figures. Google celebrates nearly any semi-recognized day with a special graphic, but totally ignores those that gave their all to give Google the freedom to display whatever they choose on their web pages. Looks like they would appreciate our soldiers more after all of the internet censorship from Iran and China recently. I am not using anything powered by Google any longer.
