Jenny McCarthy and Jim Carrey Discuss Autism on GMA
Jenny McCarthy and her boyfriend Jim Carrey were on Good Morning America discussing Autism. McCarthy’s son has diagnosed with Autism i 2005. The stats for Autism have gotten just down right horrible. Now nearly 1 in 150 children have it. In boys it is 1 in 99. Hormones in our food, chemicals and many other things are being blamed for it. Just ten years ago a child was 10x less likely to have it.

For what its worth, the reason autism rates have been going up is because cases that used to be classified as mental retardation are now understood to be autism. Its not that more kids have autism than before, just that more children are properly diagnosed. If you look at the number of cases of mental retardation in general, they are going down at the same rate autism is going up.
