Patrick Swayze Returning to Acting
Patrick Swayze, who is undergoing treatment for pancreatic cancer, is returning to acting according to People.com. His new TV project The Beast was just given the go ahead by A&E.
“I have searched for quite a long time to find a character that is this multi-layered, unpredictable and downright entertaining, as well as a project this current and cutting edged,” Swayze, 55, said in a statement from the network.
In the series, the actor has a starring role playing veteran FBI agent Charles Barker, who is assigned to teach his rookie partner (Fimmel) his eccentric undercover crime-solving methods while secretly being investigated by an Internal Affairs team. Production on the show begins this summer and will film on location in Chicago, with a scheduled premiere date of early 2009.
I don’t know of anyone that is not pulling for Swayze. I have never met the guy but he has always seemed as one of the nicer and more respectable actors in Hollywood.

I found a label maker at my bar awhile back and made a sticker for my phone saying “Go away, I am waiting for Patrick Swayze.” I took off the Patrick Swayze part after news of his illness because I didn’t want it to seem in bad taste. Now it just says “Go away, I am waiting for.”
I am so excited to add to it and complete the phrase with “Go away, I am waiting for Patrick Swayze to return to t.v. as a badass FBI agent with depth!”
I cannot imagine anyone would have something bad to say about the man. We shall have Swayze night at the bar and watch the series. See you there!
