Pitcher Shawn Chacon Chokes Astros GM Ed Wade

Houston Astros pitcher Shawn Chacon (above i happier days) finally put Latrell Sprewell back in the news. Chacon went all Sprewell on Astros GM Ed Wade as he was trying to talk to Chacon about his bad pitching when Chacon grabbed Wade by the neck, choked him, and slung him to the floor.
Wade had the nerve to suggest — a tad indelicately, perhaps — that Chacon take a good look in the mirror.
Well, no wonder Chacon couldn’t stand there calmly and take that.
If you were Shawn Anthony Chacon, and you’d pitched your way into a demotion on a pitching-starved team, and you’d somehow developed a misguided sense of entitlement that caused you to think you deserved the job security of a Supreme Court justice, would you really want to look yourself in the mirror?
Chacon was totally out of line and should be punished rightfully so, but I believe he did what many Astros fans have wanted to do to Wade as well. His moves at GM have left many wondering if MLB should institute drug testing among their General Managers.
When are these authority figures in sports going to realize that you can’t have ‘talks’ with any athlete making over $2 million dollars a year. If you do, you are imperiling your safety and health.
To be fair Chacon is 2-3 with a 5.04 ERA this year and is about to be blackballed. Sadly Ed Wade will be on the same list but his absence from baseball will be strictly work related.
