Natalie Cole, the daughter of the late Nat King Cole, has revealed that she has been diagnosed with Hepatitis C. Natalie is approaching the disease with a great attitude and appears ready for the challenges the liver disease will bring.

“I’ve been so fortunate to have learned so much from my past experiences,” said Cole. “I am embraced by the love and support of my family and friends; I am committed to my belief in myself and in my abiding faith to meet this challenge with a heartfelt optimism and determination. This is how I intend to deal with this current challenge in my life.”

Cole admits that her drug use from many years prior is likely the cause of her H-C. In her 2000 autobiography Angel On My Shoulder she admitted to using cocaine, LSD and heroin.

Natalie has won 8 Grammy Awards and has had six R&B #1 hits.
