Actor Christian Bale, who currently stars as Batman in the box-office breaking The Dark Knight, has been accused of assault by his mother Jenny and sister Sharon. The alleged assault took place in an East London hotel over the weekend according to Pop Crunch.

The thirty-four year old Wales-born actor will be questioned late Tuesday about allegations that he assaulted his 61 year-old mother Jenny and sister Sharon, 40, in a Dorcester hotel suite just hours before Sunday’s European premiere of The Dark Knight.

“It was a very difficult situation but it would have been wrong to have wrecked the premiere over a complaint which we don’t yet know is founded in truth,” a family friend says.

It is English policy (go figure) to arrest a suspect before questioning him. So Bale was arrested before being questioned. On the surface I find these charges extremely hard to believe. If they are true then shame on the caped crusader. If his mom and sister are making them up then they should be prosecuted. Hopefully nothing will come of Bale’s arrest and it is just a case of all parties over-reacting.
