NBC is reporting that female Olympic swimmer Jessica Hardy has failed a drug test for a performance enhancing stimulant.  The proceedings to see if she will be able to swim at next month’s Beijing Olympics is already taking place.

Hardy, 21, of Los Angeles, tested positive at the U.S. Olympic Trials for the banned stimulant clenbuterol, her attorney, Howard Jacobs, confirmed late Wednesday.

“Jessica denies that she has taken any prohibited substances,” he said. “We’re looking into explanations for the positive [tests].”

Failed drug tests in sports are hard to overturn unless your name is Travis Henry.  Floyd Landis and many others have sworn their innocence but to no avail to this arbitration committees and hearings.
