Who is Tim Pawlenty?

Tim Pawlenty is the Republican governor of Minnesota and one of the leading Vice Presidential candidates for Republican nominee Senator John McCain.
The latest rumor, according to a CNN blog, hints that McCain has already selected Pawlenty as his running mate.
The GOP source said “out of the blue McCain told the gathering that he thinks they are “really going to like Pawlenty.
Coincidently a McCain aide says Gov. Pawlenty was at McCain headquarters in northern Virginia today. He was apparently in town already for another meeting.
Pawlenty was elected governor of Minnesota in 2002 and reelected in 2006. His term expires in 2011. He won his second term by just 1% over Democratic challenger Mike Hatch.
He is 47-years old and was born and raised in St. Paul, Minnesota. He received his undergraduate and law degree from the University of Minnesota.
He met Mary Anderson in 1986 and married her in 1987. She served as a District Court judge before recently leaving the bench to go into non-profit private practice.
